Prayers really do get answered We know it to be true We know because we prayed so hard When we saw what happened to you We walked in and saw you there With Iv's; on life support We knew we had to speak to God Through prayers of a different sort We knew Lord that we needed you For this girl that we all loved This grown woman in grave condition My Daughter needed you from above The doctor's opinions struck us hard Some said there's nothing else to do Others said she just needs more time We've seen other patient's pull through We decided to go with the believers After we had almost let you go Life support is a controversial issue Between doctor's that people don't know So many things were wrong with you Some said decide among yourselves The others said it will be an uphill battle In time you could regain your health We followed the path of the believers We put our trust in Gods hands The next morning you opened your eyes Now a miracle hung upon a strand The minutes, hours, and days that passed Proved our faith in God so strong Through prayer we knew of miracles Even when time seemed endlessly long We named the doctor's that believed in you Angel's that God sent from up above To think that we had almost given up Only proved our familys steadfast love We were your eyes and voice in this matter As you had no living will We all shared in these decisions for you Your wishes we wanted fulfilled Many weeks have passed by now Your recovery amazes everyone We journey that uphill road with you We won't quit till your rehab is done We have learned so much upon this road That we took with our critically ill Marianne Have a talk with your families About living wills and life support plans Get your papers in order Don't wait until it's too late Be sure to know your family wishes Don't let life support become a debate Written by: S.
