Memories Of Them
Yesterday I was five
Today I am fifty three
If I could bring back your childhood
How pleased it would make me

For now, there are no more slamming doors
No one tieing up the phone
The house seems quiet and empty
It's just me here all alone

Our children were the heart of home
They grew up and left the nest
Thoughts and memories of them
Comfort our hearts the best

So now when I feel lonely
I sit and think of you
I get a big old smile
That beams the whole day through
