Sally in our alley
Some people would say
I hate that name
To this very day
Sally with the red dress on
Something else to ponder
Mustang Sally
It was no wonder
Back in school
It was see Sally run
It was simple to me
There was no fun
Then Sally Rand
Came into the picture
I had more names
Than I could ever figure
My Grandma was different
I was Sally Goodin in her eyes
What could I say
It came as no surprise
What I want to know
For Heaven sake
What was wrong with my parents
In the first darn place
Sally go round the roses
My Gal Sal
That's not what they picked
That name of mine
It just wouldn't click
After all these years
I can finally see
There is only one Sally
And that is me
